MARINAS IN GREECE

You can choose among numerous marvelous places for visit in Greece, whether you are looking for crowded places or less frequented ones.

The most popular ones are quite crowded during the high season. In that case, you can set sail towards the most remote islands and find a nice anchorage for your yacht. Or you could make arrangements in early season to avoid the crowd and still enjoy pleasant climate.

The development of nautical tourism and greater interest in sailing holidays resulted in development of new and modern marinas providing high standard facilities for yachtsmen. Construction and modernization of ports and marinas have not ruined the picturesque towns or beautiful nature of surroundings.

Some of the best equipped marinas in Greece:

Most marinas were built inside breakwaters and in most islands yachts come stern-to the existing quays or stay at anchor.

New marinas were mostly built on the mainland and provide the best repair facilities. The greatest concentration of facilities is around Athens which offers the complete range of repair facilities. Spare parts are difficult to find outside this area.

Though the majority of marinas are well equipped, there might be some difficulties in obtaining water in the most remote places and ports. In that case it would be best to keep supplies on board.
